Samuel Kirk

BSc Arch, BArch

Director

Sam is an award-winning architect and development manager with more than 20 years’ experience in the industry. His projects range from retail, leisure and office fit-outs, shopping malls and transport hubs, to new city masterplans. He has an established portfolio in more than 30 countries. He collaborates with retail and leisure operators, investment funds, developers, blue-chip companies, local authorities and governmental development agencies.

 

Sam is a highly skilled negotiator and gets best value for his clients.  He is well regarded in the retail and wider development industry, and is a committee member of the International Council of Shopping Centres and frequently speaks on market trends at major property industry events.

Haitham ElMoheen

Bsc Arch, Msc EES

Director

Haitham is an expert on the north African investment and development market and oversees BCIstudio’s Middle East and North Africa portfolio. He focuses on designing vibrant retail and leisure destinations, mixed-use developments and regional masterplans. He works closely with the Egyptian Government on its inward investment programme and promotion, and advises on the leisure and hospitality aspect of major Egyptian developments and new cities.

 

Haitham is currently assisting international investors, hotel operators, retailers and leisure operators in finding the right opportunities and local partners for their business interests. He advises some of the leading developers in the Egyptian market to ensure their commercial offer meets international standards. Haitham speaks English and Arabic.

Nancy Perez

Architecture Diploma

Associate

Nancy first joined BCIstudio in 2003 and worked with us for five years. She then spent eight years living in South America, Africa and Vietnam, where she worked for a major far eastern hotel developer as Design Manager, gaining a wealth of experience in the design and operation of large-scale resorts.

 

In 2016, Nancy returned to the UK and rejoined BCIstudio. Her international experience is put to effective use and is evident in the many dynamic mixed-use projects that she is currently delivering. Nancy is fluent in English and Spanish.

Mara Vasilache

Dip Arch ARB

Director

Mara is responsible for BCIstudio’s Eastern European portfolio and is an authority on local market requirements. She specialises in launching unique brand concepts and concept stores, and is industry-recognised for her shopping centre repositioning and lease planning. She delivers outstanding high-end residential projects for investor and private clients in central London.

 

Mara qualified as an architect in 2004. She has vast international experience having lived and worked in Romania, New York and London. She has delivered high-profile projects across Europe and North Africa, including mixed-use masterplanning, retail and entertainment schemes in the UK, United States, Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria. Mara is fluent in English and Romanian.

Lorena Sterkaj
Ba(Hons) Arch, MA

Senior Associate

Lorena’s main areas of interest are public space, retail and leisure design. She joined BCIstudio in 2018 and is responsible for developing retail and leisure strategies and masterplans, with a strong focus on research and placemaking. Her experience is multi-disciplinary, from architecture and design, to branding and creative consultancy.

 

Lorena completed her RIBA Part 1 at Birmingham City University, UK. She worked for a year in Milan as an architectural designer, and then obtained an MA in Interior and Spatial Design from the University of Arts, London, in 2015. Lorena speaks English, Italian, Greek and Albanian.
